My first day of CrossFit was the day the Cove opened. I never saw myself as an athletic or fit person. Seriously, I was told to just walk around the track when we played sports during high school PE and nearly failed my annual Air Force fitness assessment more than once. I was more than a little apprehensive about the whole “CrossFit Thing”, but I am so glad i took the leap and decided to push myself to try something new.
There is something incredibly empowering about discovering what your body is capable of. Building strength and endurance inside the gym translates to confidence and improved quality of life outside the gym. As a coach, there is nothing more satisfying than helping others step outside of their comfort zone and discovering what they are made of.
On a personal note, I’m a bit of a nerd. A big Star Wars, Doctor Who, and Harry Potter fan. Curling up with a good Sci-fi or Fantasy novel is heaven, and I’m fascinated by the science behind exercise and movement.
