Maria Alcoke
Coach Maria grew up right here in Columbia and spent most of her 20s on the West Coast where she found a love for endurance training as well as strength and conditioning. With a background in swimming, surfing, marathon and triathlon became her sport of choice. She podiumed in her age group in several sprint and Olympic distance triathlons and in 2013, Maria qualified for the Boston Marathon running a 3:30 marathon at CIM and completed a 70.1 half-Ironman. She programmed and coached a speed & endurance class at her gym in San Diego, Performance 360, helping athletes improve their overall stamina and run technique. Strength and conditioning played a huge role in her endurance accomplishments and upon moving back to the east coast to have her first daughter, Maria fell in love with CrossFit at the Cove. Maria received her L-1 certification in 2015 and a pre-and-postnatal coaching certificate in 2018. She plays an important role in the Cove pregnancy and postpartum programming and ran a specialized fitness program for postpartum women, Fourth Trimester Fit, which was recognized in the Wall Street Journal. Maria is a wife and a mom of two little girls, Sage (born summer 2015) and Hendrix (born winter 2018) and fur-baby, Dunkin.
