SEPTEMBER 11TH REMEMBERANCE
SEPTEMBER 11TH REMEMBERANCE
Each year the Cove has been open, we have done a community remembrance for the lives lost — and this year is no different. As most of you know, a total of 2,977 people were killed in New York City, Washington, DC and outside of Shanksville on September 11th 2001. Each of us has our own personal story of this day, but today we remember and reflect TOGETHER. We are hoping to achieve, as a collective, 2,977 calories on the assault bikes tomorrow to honor each of those precious lives lost.
We know some of our athletes do need feel safe coming into the gym, so we will bring some bikes outside so you can join us outdoors. Or you can participate with a run, with every 100 meters counting as one calorie. As we have done in the past, we will have a whiteboard recording where we stand as a group. If you are participating virtually, post on the Cove Club and we will add your tallies.
We thank you in advance for your efforts to remember this tragic day. As you ride or run, remember that however crazy today’s times feel, just like this day 19 years ago, we are in this together.
