AND 22.1 IS……
Complete as many rounds as possible in 15 minutes of:
3 wall walks
12 dumbbell snatches
15 box jump-overs
35-lb dumbbell, 20-in box
What a great way to start of the open with this 15 minute AMRAP. We knew the wall walks would be comming back. If you want to watch Coach Marina do the workout or her post wod commentary, check out the Cove’s private Facebook group.
Don’t forget, all Covies are invited to a little post Open celebration at Frisco Tap House.
COACH DEJAH APPROVES THIS WORKOUT
Finally, we will be doing social events every Friday evening for the Open. This week we will be going to Frisco Tap House. It’s close to the gym and we are looking to get there between 7:30 PM and 8 PM to celebrate!
We currently have 34 athletes signed up for the Open and are looking for some more. Regardless if you are signed up or not, look forward to some fun filled Friday’s at the Cove.

THE CROSSFIT OPEN IS COMING
The CrossFit Open is coming! Yep, starting on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022 (for three weeks), CrossFit athletes everywhere have the chance to challenge themselves and feel the thrill of “competing” on a global scale.
Yes, technically it “competition” as it is a qualifier for the CrossFit Games but for most of us, it’s about discovering something about yourself. But sometimes the seemingly impossible is actually possible!
More than anything, it is community at its finest. And ask ANYONE who’s done it at the Cove — the feeling is just magical. Next level cheering and celebrating and the ultimate reminder of why we all do this crazy thing called CrossFit. And while we are still working on details given Covid restrictions at the gym, there WILL be post-WOD shenanigans on Friday nights (even if off campus)!
For those who haven’t done it before, each Thursday night at 8p CrossFit releases the workout. Every Friday we do that workout at the Cove (as the daily WOD), so even if you don’t register, you’ll be doing the Open workouts anyway. There is an option for EVERYONE regardless of your fitness level. And the $20 registration fee (that goes to CF, not us) gives that extra feeling of accountability and being part of something epic!

POSTPONED BUT NOT CANCELED
We are beyond bummed to post this but we are POSTPONING (not canceling!) the Anniversary Bash in February and the Women’s Self Defense Seminar this weekend. If you are a glass half full person and love anagrams or word games, you’ll see that “no stop”, “soon” and “dope” are all words that can come from “postponed”. And the party will be ALL those things! Regarding the self-defense seminar this weekend, one of our generous volunteer instructors (Maryann Foxwell) has to abide by new Covid restrictions at work that limits her exposures outside the workplace — so taking the risk of volunteer work in a group setting is something she just can’t do right now (and we absolutely understand!). When numbers calm down and she has more flexibility it will be back on the books! Thank you all for understanding!
