A Beautiful Day For A Beautiful Couple
A Beautiful Day For A Beautiful Couple
Although the gym is focused around sweat and fitness, some have found love inside the four walls that make up the Cove. We want to wish congratulations to Coach John and Tracey Perrick on their wonderful wedding day this past weekend. These two are such pillars to the community and it is no surprise that they have found each other. We love you both and so excited for you guys in your future journey together. We love you guys!
A GREAT COVETOBER NIGHT
A GREAT COVETOBER NIGHT
We want to thank everyone who came to the First Annual CoveToberfest celebration this past Friday! It was so nice to see so many people making new friends, connecting with old ones and capturing a glimpse of what community really feels like here at the Cove (or rather, just outside the Cove). Community is what makes this place so special and we’re thankful we were able to have a moment like this in crazy times like these.
We also want to thank everyone for contributing so much great food and drink! And a huge shout out to Allie Bradley for taking the lead in planning the event — without her help it would not have been possible! So many pitched in all night, but a special thanks to Coach Joel, Peter, and Ladi who helped set up everything outside. As they say, it takes a village!
We will be posting some pictures of the event on our Facebook page, Cove the Club.
FRIENDLY FRAN
FRIENDLY FRAN
Despite the tumultuous year CrossFit has had, we know many of you follow the CrossFit Games — and you’re likely aware of the challenges they’ve had trying to narrow the field for the “Fittest Athletes on Earth” title with new leadership during a global pandemic. Two weeks ago CrossFit did an online competition (drawing from the top CrossFit athletes in the world) to determine the top five male and female athletes that would later compete at the “Games” on October 19th in a reimagined version of the event.
Similar to the Open, CrossFit specifically designed a number of these CrossFit Games qualifier workouts so that athletes from gyms around the world stack up against the best in the world. One in particular, called “Friendly Fran” became an instant fan favorite as it is a play on the classic CrossFit benchmark workout. We have in a bit of a mini-front squat/thruster cycle as of of late in preparation for this test and we are excited to see how people do. Looking forward to a great workout at the Cove tomorrow. While we might not be the top five in the world, we can at least play in the sandbox as if we are! As always, be safe and have fun!
